Welcome to Hooton Pagnell

We are incredibly proud of our very special school which is situated in the picturesque, semi-rural village of Hooton Pagnell in South Yorkshire.

At present, there are 83 children on roll; small class sizes ensure that every child feels valued and nurtured whilst completing their exciting and varied learning journey. The present building opened in 1970, replacing the old Hooton Pagnell School built in 1856. Over the past few years, the school has undergone significant refurbishment and cosmetic enhancements, ensuring our internal learning environments are as magnificent as our outdoor spaces.

We are a Church of England Primary school and a member of the James Montgomery Academy Trust. Located on the border of Doncaster and Wakefield, our school attracts children from a wide catchment area across both South and West Yorkshire.

The Start of the School Day

We operate a flexible ‘drop off’ window of 15 minutes which really helps to minimise congestion in our tiny village.

Children should arrive at school between 8.30-8.45am. Children in Explorers and Pathfinders (reception, years 1 and 2)  should be accompanied by an adult down the drive and dropped off at their gate. Adventurers and Navigators (years 3, 4, 5 and 6) should be dropped off at the end of the drive, where there will be members of staff supervising on the drive each morning.

If children arrive late, they must be signed in by an adult through the school office.

The End of the School Day

We operate a flexible ‘pick-up’ window of 15 minutes which really helps to minimise congestion in our tiny village.

Pick-up time is 3.00—3.15pm.

Children in Explorers and Pathfinders  (reception , years 1 and 2)  will be dismissed through their gate. Navigators and Adventurers (years 3, 4, 5 and 6) will be released outside the main entrance as adults arrive to collect them.

After school clubs are available until 4.15pm.
